Enrollment & Tuition
Enrollment at The Piano Lab is ongoing and a student’s subscription reserves their place in a class for the entire teaching year.
Enrollment is billed through a recurring monthly subscription and remains consistent each month regardless of the number of lessons in a given month.
A student’s subscription includes weekly instruction, studio events, performance opportunities, and access to studio-licensed materials and resources throughout their enrollment.
A student’s subscription reserves placement in the studio program, not attendance at individual classes or lessons.
Students who pause enrollment, including for a single month, remain responsible for their monthly subscription in order to retain their class placement and current subscription rate.
Students who discontinue enrollment and later return will re-enroll based on current studio availability and current subscription rate.
Subscription payments are processed through AutoPay. Families paying by check must submit payment by the first lesson of each month. Cash payments are not accepted.
A $10 late fee may be applied to overdue payments.
Enrollment is not considered complete until all required forms, payment information, photo consent forms, and policy agreements have been submitted.
Subscriptions are not refunded, credited, or prorated for missed classes or lessons.
Attendance, Absences & Makeups
All absences and cancellations must be submitted through MakeMusic.
Subscription payments are not refunded, credited, or prorated for missed classes or lessons.
Group classes may attend another class of the same level during the same week only if space is available. Alternate class opportunities are not guaranteed.
One-on-one makeup lessons are not provided for group classes.
Lessons begin and end at the scheduled time regardless of late arrival.
For all online lessons and the final in person lesson of the day, the studio will wait 10 minutes before considering the lesson missed.
In the event of inclement weather, private lessons may be moved online, using 1ON1 Piano. The studio will instruct on usage of the platform. Group classes may submit a video assignment.
Students unable to attend a class or lesson may submit a video assignment by email within 48hrs of the scheduled lesson time for teacher feedback. Video submissions should be shared through an unlisted YouTube link.
Scheduling, Enrollment changes & Withdrawal
Students are enrolled in a recurring weekly class or lesson time.
Families will be asked to submit scheduling availability prior to each summer and school-year scheduling period. Class placements and lesson times are assigned based on availability, enrollment, and studio scheduling needs.
Requested lesson times and scheduling preferences will be considered but are not guaranteed.
Families may request a permanent schedule change during the teaching year. The studio will make every effort to accommodate scheduling requests when possible, but schedule changes and alternate placements cannot be guaranteed.
Group class placement is determined by age, experience level, class balance, and studio enrollment needs. Placement may change from year to year based on enrollment or scheduling needs.
Withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing before the first day of the upcoming billing month. Subscription payments already processed are non-refundable.
Students who withdraw from the studio and later return will re-enroll based on current studio availability and current subscription rates.

The Piano Lab reserves the right to dismiss students whose behavior is consistently disruptive, unsafe, or incompatible with studio expectations.
